Fourth-graders win word scramble presented by Sagicor

This class at Power Ranch Elementary School won Sagicor's pizza party word find.


Students at Power Ranch Elementary proved to the rest of the Valley how well they can spell.

The school topped nine other competing schools in a word scramble to earn a pizza party with Big Red, which was presented by Sagicor Life Insurance.

Power Ranch found the most words and we rewarded by the Cardinals on May 23, the last day of school, with a visit by Big Red.

Throughout April and May, Cardinals players, Big Red and other Cardinals representative visited the 10 schools throughout Valley. They explained to the fourth graders why reading is so important, the players read a book and Big Red danced with the students. At each school, 50 fourth graders competed in the word scramble, which Power Ranch proved their prowess in by earning the pizza party that included cookies.
