Head coach Bruce Arians and quarterback Carson Palmer both joined the Arizona Cardinals in 2013. Their tenures in the Valley ended one day apart. The day after Arians retired, Palmer called it a career. Palmer also played for the Bengals and Raiders in his 15-year career. Here is the reaction on social media to Palmer's retirement announcement:

#CheersToCarson Thanks for some great memories during your time here in AZ. Wish you could have won the Super Bowl ring you so rightly deserve, just wasn’t meant to be. I look forward to your first round induction into the Football Hall of Fame!

I guess it’s better to let the team know in advance. However, I will still miss him. #CheersToCarson pic.twitter.com/5NKrvgNbEY

Sad to hear Carson Palmer is retiring. He was the first NFL QB named Carson so I always liked him. #CheersToCarson — Carson Ghrigsby (@RCG_Uncensored) January 2, 2018

Will honestly miss these 2 leaders on the team! They have taught me so much on/off the field. I seriously owe so much to Carson & @BruceArians for how they have gotten me to where I am in my career/life today. I wish you all the best as you start the next stages of life! pic.twitter.com/6t5LwfvBf6

Carson Palmer had a terrific NFL career with prolific seasons for multiple franchises...but his best attributes were his toughness on the field and his kindness off of it. All the best, #3!

A Carson Palmer note: A few years ago a coach I know who'd worked with him in college asked Carson if he could get him tickets to a Cardinals game. Carson responded by getting him tickets AND putting the guy up in a 5-star hotel for the weekend.

Good luck to Carson Palmer in retirement. When he dealt with me, it was important to him that he explain things so deeply that even I would understand. Just a very, very good person—and one of the best at the total craft of quarterbacking.

@AZCardinals Even with a divided opinion between #BirdGang fans signing another QB at the tail end of his career, that never stopped you from walking on the field and play with all your heart. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and love for the game! #GodBless #CarsonPalmer pic.twitter.com/ZahVjZV33Q
