The Cardinals traded OL Tony Bergstrom to the Ravens.

As the Cardinals began their work Friday paring down their roster to an eventual 53 players, they traded one away.

The team flipped offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom, who would have been released, to the Baltimore Ravens for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2018.

The Cardinals met Friday morning to watch video of Thursday night's preseason loss in Denver and also to talk about the season. The team began cutting players – as of Thursday night, they had 89 on the roster.

Coach Bruce Arians declined to talk about any cuts Friday. Cuts will be announced Saturday afternoon.

Bergstrom was signed as a free agent in the spring, working at both guard and center. But he was never really able to push for one of the depth roles on the offensive line.

Coach Bruce Arians said the group that started the final preseason game Thursday night – left tackle Will Holden, left guard Kaleb Johnson, center Daniel Munyer, right guard Cole Toner and right tackle Ulrick John – "held their own pretty good."

"(Quarterback) Blaine (Gabbert) was pretty clean," Arians said.

Toner, Holden and John are among the top candidates to earn one of the last offensive line spots on the roster.
