Cardinals Activate Rodney Hudson From Covid List

Center Rodney Hudson hasn't played since the Monday night game against the Rams.

The Cardinals got a key piece back on Monday when the Cardinals activated starting center Rodney Hudson from the Covid list.

Hudson had missed the past two games, after missing three games earlier this season with a ribs injury.

"Rodney has been huge for us," coach Kliff Kingsbury said. "When you look at the games he's played for us, we've played really well offensively. He's the security blanket for all of us really, the coaching staff, the O-line, the skills guys. He's kind of the glue that makes it all stick together. so it's a big deal to get him back."

The team also re-signed defensive end Matt Dickerson to the practice squad.

In Hudson's absence, the Cardinals had played Max Garcia at center and used Josh Jones at right guard. Jones struggled against the Colts, earned three false start penalties, and with Hudson back, Garcia is expected to slide back to the right guard spot.

Kingsbury did say the Cards want to "ease" Hudson back into practice after missing two weeks, but the hope is that he'll be ready to play this weekend.

In 10 games played this season, Hudson has not been flagged for a penalty, allowed only one sack and given up just three quarterback pressures.

Kingsbury also acknowledged the poor snaps the Cardinals have had is "something we've got to work on." A faulty Garcia snap cost the Cardinals a safety against the Colts.

"I haven't seen it be a major issue but the last couple of weeks we have had the ball on the ground I think three times, which just can't happen," Kingsbury said. "It's too tough of a league to waste plays like that."

The Cardinals return to the practice field on Wednesday. They travel to Dallas Sunday for an important game for playoff seeding.
