With an open spot available on the roster, the Cardinals have signed defensive tackle Kyon Barrs, who last played for the XFL's Arlington Renegades.
The Cardinals have had an opening since May when Sean Murphy-Bunting was placed on NFI.
Barrs reportedly visited with the Bengals and had a tryout with the Cardinals recently. With the Renegades, Barrs had 24 tackles, a tackle for loss, and a sack in 10 games played.
The newest Cardinals defensive lineman does have some NFL experience. After spending four seasons at the University of Arizona and his final season with the USC Trojans, the Seahawks signed Barrs as an undrafted free agent. His stay in Seattle was short.
Barrs addition brings more depth to an already crowded defensive line room who will report to training camp on Tuesday and begin practicing on Wednesday. Calais Campbell, Dalvin Tomlinson, Walter Nolen III, and Elijah Simmons are some of the new faces vying for snaps along the defensive front.
