The Cardinals have chosen a third quarterback.

The team signed Kedon Slovis to the practice squad on Thursday, for someone to slot behind Kyler Murray and Jacoby Brissett. Slovis, who played at Scottsdale Desert Mountain High School and was coached by Hall of Famer Kurt Warner, was an undrafted rookie in 2024. He was first with the Colts before being cut at the end of the preseason. He then signed to be on the Texans' practice squad.

He was with the Texans this preseason before being released. He played in all three preseason games for Houston, completing 27 of 43 passes for 233 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

The Cardinals were in need of a third QB after cutting Clayton Tune. Tune signed with the practice squad of the Green Bay Packers.

The Cardinals added three others to the practice squad on Thursday: offensive tackle Demontrey Jacobs (cut by the Patriots after starting 13 games last season), cornerback Chigozie Anusium (cut by Browns), and offensive lineman Roy Mbaeteka, the Nigerian native who will get the team's international exemption.

The team also released offensive lineman Sincere Haynesworth from the practice squad.

The team has one more practice Thursday before getting a three-day break. Their first practice of the regular season comes on Labor Day Monday in prep for the Sept. 7 game at New Orleans.
