Roster construction for 2026 is officially underway as the Cardinals make their first signings of the offseason.
The Cardinals signed defensive back Jaden Davis, wide receiver Bryson Green, and linebackers Elliott Brown and Eku Leota to "futures" contracts, according to the NFL transactions list.
With all of the injuries in the Cardinals secondary, Davis, who was the Cardinals' seventh-round selection in 2024, earned some playing time towards the backend of the season. He made his NFL debut in Week 16 against the Falcons where he recorded two tackles.
He was elevated from the practice squad in Weeks 16-18. Davis was on the practice squad for the entire 2024 season and since Week 5 of the 2025 campaign.
The Cardinals brought in Brown from the CFL prior to training camp this past season. While he was not activated throughout the season, he spent the season on the practice squad as he continued to learn the differences between playing in the CFL and NFL. For the Edmonton Elks in 2024, Brown was tied for the league leader in sacks with eight.
Green and Leota were signed to the Cardinals practice squad midway through the 2025 season. Leota spent time with the Panthers and Saints since coming in the league as an undrafted rookie.
The "futures" contracts lock in players for the offseason, although they don't officially begin until the new league year begins March 11.
