Devin Duvernay Wants To Make Special Impact For Cardinals

Team also signs TE Teagan Quitoriano

Devin Duvernay arrives to sign his contract on Wednesday.

Devin Duvernay has been an All-Pro as a return man and has made a couple of Pro Bowls for that reason as well.

The 5-foot-11, 202-pound wide receiver has helped other places in his career, with 107 receptions and 31 rushing attempts in his six NFL seasons. But he has lasted because of his ability to be special on special teams.

"I help with field position and it's a field position game," Duvernay said Wednesday after signing his one-year contract with the Cardinals.

The team also signed veteran tight end Teagan Quitoriano to a one-year contract. Quitoriano played in all 17 games for the Falcons in 2025 after playing his first three seasons in Houston, spending most of his time on special teams.

That's an area Duvernay knows well.

He was an All-Pro with the Ravens in 2021. In his career he has averaged 25.4 yards a kick return and 11.8 yards a punt return, although he was better in both spots (27.6 and 16.2) in two playoff games for the Bears last season.

As a receiver, he has 1,003 yards on his 107 catches, but he has only 17 receptions for 123 yards the past three seasons – his final in Baltimore, one in Jacksonville, and in Chicago last season.

"The receiving opportunity has been less since I have gotten older but I feel it's still there and I'm always ready for whenever my number is called," Duvernay said. "I train like I am a starter, practice like I am, study like I am. Whatever I am needed for I'll be ready."

The Cardinals do have room on the depth chart. Kendrick Bourne signed to presumably be the third wideout behind Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr., but Duvernay could make inroads in the role that had been filled by Greg Dortch – a WR4 and the top return man.

Dortch, coincidentally, agreed to a deal with the Lions on Wednesday.

It also isn't lost on Duvernay that he arrives in Arizona soon after his cousin – quarterback Kyler Murray – was released and signed with Minnesota. Duvernay's mother is sisters with Murray's mother.

He and Kyler exchanged jerseys after a Ravens-Cardinals preseason game in 2022 at State Farm Stadium. The same place Duvernay now calls home.

"It's a little bit (strange), but he has his deal I have my deal," Duvernay said. "It is what it is."
