Jonathan Gannon sat in front of the microphone on Monday and said something he had repeated plenty throughout the season.

"No one is happy" following another loss, this time to the Bengals on Sunday. With the season his team has been through, change will be required. The Cardinals coach knows this.

"The silver lining is from when you get punched in the face, that's true adversity, which we've been punched in the face. It forces you to grow," Gannon said. "In this business, it's kind of adapt or die. With the adversity that we've had this year, you better adapt."

First comes Sunday's game against the Rams. The Cardinals hope to end a bumpy season on as high of a note as possible.

After that comes change.

As recently as last week, Gannon said an area he'll revisit is the health and development of the team. The season, which has been marred by injuries, took another hit against the Bengals. Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who had been playing through a heel injury, injured his other foot on Sunday.

Gannon expects to be the one executing those changes. While the coach said Monday he wasn't willing to share conversations he has had with his bosses about his future, he acknowledged, "I feel good."

"I have confidence in myself," Gannon said.

The story of the season has been self-inflicted errors, quarterback Jacoby Brissett said after the game. It was a similar situation on Sunday as the Cardinals struggled to convert on third down. The offense was 3 for 13 on third down conversions, while the Bengals were 10 for 15.

"You've got to find growth in anything, good and bad, but there's no hiding from adversity," Gannon said. "It forces you to make changes."

Because of the urgency to right the ship after this season, Gannon shared that his first offseason move will be looking inward.

In the meantime, there is a desire to return to the win column against a divisional opponent. The team has "a lot to play for this week, and they know that."

"I try to take detailed notes and try to have a pulse of what's going on," Gannon added. "I do have to think about the future a little bit obviously (with) the seat that I'm in, but my focus is really on L.A. There will be a time to look at all that and have those conversations and make changes.

"No one's happy. I'm not happy. The players aren't happy. Through adversity you have to change. I have to change, and we have to change some things, but we'll get to that."
